Discover the history, flavor, and charm of Battle Creek—known as “The Cereal City”—on this fun and fascinating day trip! Our adventure begins at the Kellogg Cereal Exhibit, where you’ll learn how cereal was invented and how it became a staple of the American breakfast table.
From there, a local guide will lead us on a city tour highlighting Battle Creek’s rich history, including its connection to the Underground Railroad, its role during the World Wars, the famous health resort run by Dr. John Kellogg, and other important landmarks. We’ll step back in time with a visit to the Historic Adventist Village, where you’ll discover the early roots of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and its influence on the city.
Lunch will be on your own at Clara’s on the River, a charming restaurant set inside a restored historic train depot, before we wrap up the day with a stop at Horrocks Farm Market, a lively destination filled with fresh produce, baked goods, specialty foods, flowers, and unique finds. This enjoyable getaway offers the perfect mix of local history, delicious food, and fun shopping. Spots are limited, and payment is required to reserve your seat.
