Eyes on the Prize: A Civil Rights Discussion Series

Owls Club is hosting a powerful civil rights series that explores the landmark documentary Eyes on the Prize, the most acclaimed and definitive account of the American civil rights movement. Each session will feature a selected portion of the film followed by a guided discussion, tracing the movement through key chapters: Awakenings (1954–1956), Fighting Back (1957–1962), Ain’t Scared of Your Jails (1960–1961), No Easy Walk (1961–1963), Mississippi: Is This America? (1963–1964), and Bridge to Freedom (1965). Told through the voices and experiences of ordinary men and women whose extraordinary courage reshaped the nation, the series highlights the struggles, sacrifices, and victories that led to lasting social change.
The series will include special guest Dave Dennis, Sr, who will speak at the May 8th session of Eyes on the Prize. Dave will also be appearing for a special civil rights conversation on May 7th, at Agape Missionary Baptist Church prior to his talk at OWLS Club. See flyer for details.
